David Duchovny & Ed Harris On Their New Submarine Thriller Phantom

Acclaimed actors David Duchovny and Ed Harris are both on BlogTalkRadio this week talking about their roles in the new suspense submarine thriller, Phantom.  Based on a true story, Ed Harris plays the captain of a Cold War Soviet missile submarine who suffers from seizures that alter his perceptions.  During his mission, he is challenged by a rogue KGB group led by David Duchovny trying to take control of the ship’s nuclear missile.

BlogTalkRadio Celebrates Halloween with The Fright Night Awards & Shadoe Stevens

On the 2nd episode of our new series, Storytellers, BlogTalkRadio teamed up with America’s Most Haunted for a special Halloween broadcast. Host Eric Olsen talks Fright Night Awards with the hot and saucy Carrie Keagan of VH1′s Big Morning Buzz Live and Mike Burg, creator/producer of the Teen Choice and Kids’ Choice Awards and owner of Edge Health and Edge Marketing and Entertainment.

The Fright Night Awards celebrates actors and actresses in the vampire and supernatural genre of film.  The big event is the brainchild of Mike Burg, a blood cancer survivor and Cancer Bites, a new blood cancer awareness and education initiative, with winners announced by Carrie Keagan on VH1.

Also, the mythic radio (KROQ, American Top 40) and TV personality (Craig Ferguson) Shadoe Stevens joins the show to chat about his weekly paranormal Mental Radio show.  As the first PD of LA’s KROQ-FM, Stevens created one of the first Alternative Rock formats in the country, and as radio personality there, he won the Billboard Magazine Personality of the Year Award. In 1988, he followed Casey Kasem as host of American Top Forty for the next six years, broadcast in 120 countries to an estimated 1 billion listeners every week.  He was a regular on the popular Hollywood Squares TV program and is currently announcer for The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

There are few greater storytellers than Tony Bennett, who’s spent 60 years interpreting the lyrics of the American Songbook with his inimitable voice. Tony will premiere our new Storytellers series on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 3PM EST and talk about an upcoming documentary about his life, The Zen of Bennett and his newest album, Viva Duets.

The Zen of Bennett premiered to strong critical and audience reactions at the Tribeca Film Festival in April. In the film, on the eve of his 85th birthday, Tony reflects back over his 60 year career and discusses his philosophies of life, lessons learned, and his passion for art and music.  The documentary features many touching moments including Tony in the studio singing duets with the likes of Natalie Cole, John Mayer, the late Amy Winehouse and Lady Gaga.

The Zen of Bennett will debut in theaters in New York on Wednesday, October 24th, followed by openings in select cities throughout November and December.  The film will also be available on Netflix streaming after November 12th.

Viva Duets, is Tony’s third duets-themed project, following the platinum selling and critically praised Duets and Duets II albums. Viva Duets features Tony singing his greatest hits with a celebrated roster of Latin artists including Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, Miguel Bose and Maria Gadu.

He remains the Columbia recording artist with the greatest longevity at the label and his Duets II CD, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Album charts making him the oldest artist to achieve the top spot at the age of 85. Viva Duets is set to release on October 23rd.
